AB288,1,2
1An Act to amend 30.66 (3) (a) and 30.66 (3) (b); and
to create 30.66 (3) (c) of the
2statutes;
relating to: prohibited areas for the operation of personal watercraft.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
Current law prohibits the operation of motorboats, including personal
watercraft, in excess of slow-no-wake speed within 100 feet of any dock, raft, pier
or buoyed restricted area on any lake. This bill increases this distance for personal
watercraft to 200 feet. The bill also expands the areas where a person may not
operate a personal watercraft in excess of slow-no-wake speed to include areas that
are within 200 feet of a lake shoreline.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
